More: This dog was going to have a rough start at life. Her mom was pregnant and dumped at a southern shelter. We took her in as a pregnant mom and didn’t know what would happen. The ultrasound suggested 7-8 puppies. We acclimated her to our birthing room and waited patiently. She delivered 12 pups! We worked with our rescue to adopt out the pups and we adopted the runt ourselves and named her Gilly. She has issues with strangers and needs special training, but is the most affectionate dog we’ve ever had. We are so grateful that we have her with us. I’m not sure how she would have faired with another less experienced family.
