Gus

Radiant joyful boy

More: I had Gus from 4 weeks on and in the past two years we got to spend so much more time together going on road trips all over the country. Unfortunately, in July he was diagnosed with bone cancer and had to have his rear left leg amputated. It was amazing to see him bounce back and full of joy again. He was so incredibly happy to go swimming again, and luckily it was a warm fall for that. Sadly, he passed away after Thanksgiving, and my heart still aches so much. But I know he’s watching over and he’s smiling that big smile that always helped bring a smile to others seemingly everywhere we went, from parades to trolley rides, to mountain tops. He had a special way with people and I’ve heard so many people tell me especially since his passing what an impact he had on them.
