More: Karma was a rescue dog so she'd had a pretty rough start in life. She was one years old when I adopted her, and she was so insecure that she fear-barked and really knew how to put on an aggressive stance. She also had a huge bark that would have made anyone hesitate who didn't know her. In reality, she was a sweet, kind soul who would never hurt anyone, she was just afraid of someone hurting her. I adopted her because there was an instant connection between us, and I could tell that she wanted to be a good dog, but she didn't know how. It took time and lots of socializing, but eventually Karma found herself and was the best dog I'd ever owned. She was also extremely intelligent to the point where it didn't seem right to call her a dog. I'm sure she knew five different languages. She loved going for walks in the woods, to the dog park, and, once she figured out what water was, really enjoyed going to the beach.
