Lisel vom tapferen Herzen

Lisel with the obvious indications of her cancer diagnosis

More: Lisel was one of the finest upland and waterfowl dogs I’ve ever seen. Finest that most had seen. She was my best friend and constant companion. A photograph of her did adorn an issue of Covey Rise magazine, though not this picture. This is after we discovered that her sudden onset limp was not a sprain but rather osteosarcoma. Our local bet solution was to amputate but there was no way to know how widespread her disease was. So we visited a friend at the University of Missouri and this picture was taken after the scans revealed that she was riddled with the disease. I send you this picture not expecting to have my poor lost pup in this horrible state adorn your publication. But rather in remembrance of my loss and in support of your dog cancer research. The vets at the university marveled at my pups toughness as they explained the pain of bone cancer. I took that burden when I let her go and can attest that it was almost unbearable.
