More: I got Maggie as an eight-week-old puppy while I was taking care of my dad with Alzheimer's. He was very depressed because his wife, my step-mother left him after 41 yrs of marriage. He loved dogs and I knew a puppy would help. Of course, I knew I had a 15-20 yr commitment and that was fine with me. He loved her so much and she was always a quiet little girl, still is. She really helped him and I guess you could say she was his therapy dog. I never called her that, she was just part of the family. Well, she is still part of my family but my dad passed away shortly after I got Maggie but oh she made a difference in his life. A purpose. She is the same age as my grandson so he was a tiny baby when they met and have been buddies ever since. He can do anything with her. She has just been such a pleasure. She also was a therapy do so to say to my boyfriend's mother before she passed away this July. She house broke herself and is the sweetest girl ever.
