More: Raleigh is a rescue and represents the best there is in a rescue. (Shout out to the Wash, DC Humane Society which saved her and during a military “free adoption day” event provided the opportunity for Raleigh to save us!) She’s beyond loyal, smart, curious, and mimics so much of how our little family interacts. If we are hugging she stands up and and gets in for a group hug, complete with a peck on the lips. She’s a quiet, sweet dog, so much so that we were able to take her to nursing homes with my mom and her trained therapy dog to visit the residents. She was a natural! She has become my steady hiking companion, mountain climbing partner, and even swimming buddy. Looking at Raleigh I will always know the best things in life are free. And it’s because of Raleigh that we volunteer for rescue organizations because she has shown us how wonderful life can be with a rescue.
