More: Riley was known affectionately by all as "Riley Mo" (the Mo was short for Monster). Riley lived the Orvis life, born in Northern California, growing up chasing quail on Mt Burdell. He spent his summers in Northern Wisconsin at our lake house on Lac Vieux Desert, sunny afternoons cruising the lake with us, ears and jowls flapping, with his nose pointed into the wind. He once chased a pair of bald eagles for 100 yards across a shallow sand bar, barking, after flushing them while feeding on shore. Most nights he would wait for us faithfully on the pier, hoping we'd safely return from an evening fly fishing for bass, deep in the wild bays to the north. Later, he'd curl up on his Orvis dog bed and dream about the loons and the ducks he had seen that day. Riley Mo, he was a good one!......
