More: Ruger is my mobility assistant Service Dog and I let him have a vacation to “just be a dog” and enjoy life. He’s my constant companion and best friend. We work in the racehorse industry and he travels to the barn every day with me. In the afternoon, he is an excellent example of a working service dog since he accompanies me to the frontside of Churchill Downs so I can sell mutuel tickets. He can be seen riding escalators and elavators or assisting up and down the stairs each day the track is open. He even waited patiently outside of the paddock by himself as we saddled one of our race horses before a race.
