Sadie May O’Neil

Lazy fall day

More: When Sadie was 2 months old she was very sick and almost died. She had puppy strangles- a Puppy strangles, or juvenile cellulitis, is a nodular and pustular skin disorder that affects puppies. It usually occurs between the ages of three weeks and four months, and is rarely seen in adult dogs. The face, pinnae (outer part of the ear), and salivary lymph nodes are the most common sites to be affected. The cause of this condition is unknown, but there are breeds that have been shown to be predisposed to it, including labs. Some dogs die from it, they literally strangle from the inside out. Sadie was on steroids for months because without them she couldn’t walk. She had lesions all over her. She is our miracle - she is all better and the most loving dog ever. Her growth was stunted during the process so although she is a pure breed she doesn’t look it but we think she’s perfect.
