More: Soski was a street dog from an industrial part of Abilene, Texas. Her neighborhood was full of many dangers; toxic chemicals, trains, and close to a freeway. She begged for scraps from a chop shop. A rescue volunteer noticed that she was extremely malnourished and pregnant. The woman captured her and found her a foster home just in time. The litter was born a week later. All puppies had the lethal parvo virus and Soski full of heartworm and other parasites. After months of treatment, all survived. Soski was transported to New Hampshire and we fell in love at first glance. In this picture she seemed to be beaming with the exhilaration of her first experience of snow and the joy of a safe home of her own.
