More: I was working at an animal shelter when this dog came in as a "stray." The moment I saw her (and named her), I knew she was meant to change my life forever. She was a handful at the beginning - separation anxiety, escape artist, and opener of porch doors - but she has been with me for nine years now; and I wouldn't have it any other way. She has been my rock and guardian angel through some of the worst years of my life. I wish there was a way that I could repay her for the joy she has brought me.
