More: Stodge is named after a lake in Massachusites (Stodge Meadow Pond). It was the home of my grandparents and my favorite childhood memories. When my grandmother was diagnosed with dementia, my grandpa had to sell the house on Stodge to pay for her treatment. My family was devastated and when my wife and I got our dog Stodge, it was the first time we felt as happy as I had been since those summers at Stodge Meadow Pond. The other added benefit is that we never go a day without having our family say the word “Stodge” which forces us to keep the memory alive.
