More: Ophie is an upland fanatic. She’s particularly good at sniffing out ruffed grouse in the woods of eastern Idaho where she lives, but she’s equally good in the prairie finding sharpies, pheasants and huns. She seems to believe the only birds worth hunting fly off the ground. She’s the only lab I know who isn’t interested in ducks and hunts close enough to pursue chukar without spooking the birds too far out. She’s a patient, very loving older “sister” to my 10 month old daughter and she loves eating scraps that our daughter drops from her high chair, like any good lab.
